In the native language Minaki means 'beautiful country'. The Toban Experience translation is 'if you go rock-climbing, you must sign a waiver.'

Yes, Minaki is a beautiful place and you can rock-climb, hike, or fish for giant Musky while you're there. The water is clean and clear, and you'll definitely see some local wildlife over the course of your stay. Be careful, Bigfoot is real.

Supposedly Minaki also has sunsets so beautiful you will fall to your knees and weep at the majesty of the world. Supposedly.

Explore the various mountain bike trails in the area on a rental from Minaki Yurt Adventures.

Take a hike over the rugged terrain a variety of trails.

Take out a motorboat for the day and try your hand at some fishing.

General Information

Located 245 Kms and 2.5 hrs north east of Winnipeg, Minaki is one of the more secluded destinations on our tour. Once a playground for Millionaires, and once referred to as the jewel of the central Canada it is now only home to a few hundred year round residents and about a thousand seasonal residents who spend the entire summer fishing, golfing, enjoying the mejestic sunsets and watching the Northern Lights light up the nights sky.
